Although 99% of executives believe that technology will play a central role in business over the next three years, most organizations have not yet allocated specific resources to this area

The adoption of artificial intelligence agents has already entered the radar of Brazilian companies, but it still faces structural and budgetary challenges. This is according to research by Skyone in partnership with MIT Technology Review Brazil, which shows that 57% of organizations still do not have a budget dedicated to initiatives involving AI agents.

The survey reveals a contrast between expectation and execution. According to the study, 99% of respondents believe that AI agents will play a central role in business in the next three years. Despite this, 74% of companies are still in the early or intermediate stages of adopting the technology.

The research also indicates that preparing for a hybrid workforce – made up of professionals and intelligent systems – is still far from reality for many companies. Around 59% of respondents say their organizations are not prepared to operate teams composed of people and AI in the next 12 months. The same percentage say they lack the adequate technological infrastructure to support robust artificial intelligence initiatives at scale.

According to the survey, the integration between business and technology areas remains one of the main obstacles to expanding the use of AI. Four out of ten respondents point to this factor as the main barrier to scaling projects, while 46% say that their companies still operate with silos or without a defined dynamic between areas.

The research also shows that most companies invest in AI with a focus on productivity gains. This objective is a priority for 46% of respondents. In contrast, only 14% use return on investment as the main metric to evaluate the results of the initiatives, suggesting that many organizations have not yet defined clear indicators to measure the impact of the technology.

The study surveyed approximately 265 leaders and professionals from companies in sectors such as technology, accounting, retail, and legal, between April and May 2026.
