For 53 years, Lopes Supermercados has operated with the purpose of offering a neighborhood market experience. To sustain this proposition in an increasingly digital landscape, the company needed to ensure that its infrastructure kept pace with the growth of its operations and, above all, could withstand periods of higher demand without compromising the customer experience.
The previous structure had scalability limitations. On days with stronger sales, the increase in the number of transactions put pressure on the servers and generated concern about the capacity to handle the operation.
The solution came with the migration of the infrastructure to the Skyone cloud, accompanied by specialized migration, support, and management services.
The result was an operation better prepared for periods of high demand, without system or connected service outages during Lopes' anniversary campaign, as well as an infrastructure prepared for challenges such as Black Friday.
For a supermarket chain, periods of peak sales also represent a technological challenge. More customers mean more transactions and, consequently, greater demands on the systems that support the operation.
At Lopes Supermarkets, this was a recurring concern.
According to Thiago Santana, CIO of the network, the existing infrastructure was limited and the previous server could not adequately handle periods of higher transaction volume, even though it was already in the cloud.
It was necessary to find a structure capable of offering greater scalability and security so that the growth of the operation did not also mean an increase in the risk of downtime.
The migration to Skyone's cloud was monitored from start to finish by the company's team.
In addition to the infrastructure, the project included migration and support services. As a result, the Lopes team became responsible for cloud management, while Skyone took over the infrastructure-related operations.
This approach allowed the supermarket's technology team to focus its efforts on more strategic initiatives, while Skyone took care of the infrastructure operation.
"Skyone took care of everything. Skyone provided all the support, Skyone handled the migration, and today we only manage this cloud."
Thiago Santana, CIO of the network
Skyone's selection was also related to the possibility of concentrating different technological resources on a single platform.
The first highlight mentioned by Lopes was Skyone Studio, which brings together different solutions to meet the needs of integration, data, and artificial intelligence.
In the project, the company found iPaaS resources for integrations, a Data Lake, Lakehouse, and an AI layer with over 90 million tokens.
The combination allowed the project's scope to be expanded beyond cloud infrastructure, creating a foundation for automation and data initiatives.
According to Thiago, the company initially sought a Data Lake solution, but found different capabilities within a single platform.
The results of the migration could already be seen during one of the most critical situations for a retail operation: an anniversary campaign.
At the time of his testimony, Lopes had not reported any system outages or service disruptions related to those systems following the migration to Skyone's cloud.
This stability also brought greater confidence for future periods of high demand.
"For upcoming campaigns, including Black Friday, we are prepared in terms of cloud infrastructure to provide high-quality service to our clients."

The infrastructure transformation is part of a broader project by Lopes Supermarkets.
The company has a three-year project called Acelera Lopes, with a timeframe from 2026 to 2028. The initiative seeks to advance both technologically and culturally, maintaining the concept of a neighborhood supermarket and taking this experience to an increasingly connected operation.
Technology plays an important role in this evolution, creating conditions for the customer's perceived experience within the store to keep pace with investments made in infrastructure and innovation.
For Lopes' CIO, the company's vision for the future is directly connected to technology.
"Lopes looks to the future, and Skyone is the future."
Thiago Santana, CIO of the network
More than just migrating infrastructure, the project created a technological foundation so that Lopes can advance its transformation plan until 2028.
With Skyone responsible for the migration, support, and operation of the infrastructure, the internal team gained the space to focus efforts on strategic initiatives, while the cloud provides the scalability needed to keep pace with the evolution of operations.
The result is an infrastructure prepared to support the present and, at the same time, create the technological conditions for the future of Lopes Supermarkets.
