The company turned one of the main bottlenecks of digital transformation into a physical challenge: the weight of legacy infrastructure. From August 26th to 28th, Skyone's booth at the Startup Summit hosted a server carcass throwing competition.

Skyone, a Brazilian cloud, data, and artificial intelligence platform, participated in the Startup Summit, promoted by Sebrae, with an activation that turned one of the main challenges faced by companies today into a game: the burden of legacy technology infrastructure. From August 26th to 28th, the company's booth hosted the 1st Brazilian Server Throwing Championship.

HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKED

In the activity, dubbed the Skyone Challenge, visitors were invited to throw a computer case as far as possible, with the distance recorded on a mark on the booth floor. The competition had female and male categories, open to all booth visitors. The proposal literally symbolized the modernization process proposed by Skyone to its clients: freeing the business from the burden of outdated and obsolete systems that limit the capacity for innovation.

The person who threw a server made the same bodily movement that Skyone explains in its presentations: to relieve the burden of its own infrastructure from the company's shoulders.

PROGRAMMING AT THE BOOTH

In addition to the competition, Skyone's booth brought together company experts for discussions on two central themes of digital transformation for businesses: the agile and secure migration of legacy systems to the cloud, and data integration and cybersecurity of operations.

BEHIND THE IDEA

The activation was conceived by Skyone's marketing manager, Julia Festa, based on a thought-provoking idea: at technology fairs, activities like simulators and prize wheels are usually fun, but interchangeable between competing brands. By proposing a physical gesture directly linked to the concept of taking the burden of its own infrastructure off the company's shoulders, Skyone sought an experience that would carry its message without relying on a traditional sales pitch.
